Board Members Take Oath
Three new members took the oath of office to join the Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District board of directors on Thursday, January 14. Newly elected members included Rodney Grotz, a farmer from York representing sub-district 7; Richard Bohaty, a farmer from Seward representing sub-district 3; and Kendall Siebert, a farmer and rancher from Henderson, representing sub-district 5. These three joined the other 14 board members on the locally elected governing body, tasked with protecting soil and water resources in the nine-county district.
Two board members are elected from each of eight sub-districts, with one additional board member serving ‘at large.’ The four-year terms of board members are staggered, so that one director is elected from each sub-district every two years.
Other NRD board members who continue to serve also took the oath of office, including: Roger Houdersheldt (Shelby), Larry Moore (Ulysses), Jeff Bohaty (Seward), Douglas Dickinson (Seward), Bill Stahly (Milford), Paul Weiss (McCool Junction), Lynn Yates (Geneva), Micheal Nuss (Sutton), Bill Kuehner, Jr. (Aurora), John Miller (Aurora), Ronda Rich (York), Paul Bethune (York), David Robotham (York), and Linda Luebbe (Beaver Crossing).
