Richard Bohaty has lived in Nebraska all his life. He took up farming after graduating from UNL in 1983. Outside of farming, his main interests are football and family. He also has a “unique love for our great state,” which he explores with an annual trip to “all corners of Nebraska” each summer. He joined the board in 2021 because he “has a great appreciation for the abundance of resources Nebraska has. I have great interest that these resources are used best to serve agriculture and the citizens of the state.”

Bohaty thinks that, “most people believe the NRD is just another government bureaucracy. I hope the citizens of this area could understand that the NRD is doing its best to manage the resources within its boundaries.”
